Rusea's get off to strong start in D'Cup

Eleven-time champions Rusea's High School made an impressive start to the 2019 ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup season, with a 7-1 trashing of Merlene Ottey High at the Collin Miller Sports Complex on Monday. 

Former Under-17 Reggae Boy, Kenroy Campbell led the way for the 2017 champions with a hat-trick. He was supported by Chad Howell (38) and Jeremy Cooke along with two own goals by Merlene Ottey in the 28th and 5th minutes. The lone goal for the visitors came from Romario Thompson in the 52nd minute.

Meanwhile, despite not playing their best brand of football, Frome Technical High School made a perfect start to the 2019 ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup season, defeating Hopewell High 2-0 at the Orchard Sports Complex. Fabian Forbes (7th) and Giovanni Mitto (80th), who scored 16 goals last season, were the goal scorers for Frome. 

In group A action, Green Pond High trashed Maldon 5-0 at home and Anchovy registered a 1-0 victory over former champions St James High, also at home.
