WESTERN BUREAU:Come Celebrate Jesus, western Jamaica's signature gospel concert, is scheduled to return to the Montego Bay Convention Centre on October 4 with performances from international gospel singer and song writer Ron Kenoly and local recording artiste and evangelist Kevin Downswell.

The concert, which is being put on by B. A. & D Gospel Productions, was officially launched at the Iberostar Beach Resort in Rose Hall, Montego Bay, on Monday, with hosting duties performed by veteran broadcaster and public relations specialist Marline Stephenson-Dalley.

Chairman of the concert's organising committee Donald Brooks, in his address at the launch, said the primary intent of the event is to minister God's words through music to the Jamaican people.

"We want this concert to not only entertain, but bring an awakening to the goodness of God as we minister to persons through the power of music," he said.

Evatt Bloomfield, chairman of the Montego Bay Resort Board, and general manager of Sunset Beach Resort, Spa and Waterpark, who was in attendance, thanked the organisers for bringing the concert to the Second City and said his association was also very pleased to be linked to it.

"We fully endorse the staging of this event in 2014 ... . I cannot say enough of the obligation we feel to Donald and his family for bringing this event to Montego Bay again, and we assure you, sir, of our continued support for as many years as this event will continue to come to Montego Bay and Jamaica to provide such uplifting entertainment and praise to the Jamaican people," Bloomfield said.
