This year will mark the 16th anniversary of the trade show, Montego Bay Expo. Do you believe it is meeting its mandate to showcase goods and services and create linkages and other opportunities for local businesses?

Sandra Munroe-Clarke - Educator

I believe the mandate would be better realised if greater emphasis was placed on getting the entire Montego Bay community involved. It needs to be advertised properly. In addition, enough emphasis is not being placed on the small man. Regular people only hear about these things when we read the newspaper and see pictures. How to get involved is not exposed to the regular people.

Charmaine Cousins - Custom Officer

I have not been hearing much talk about it... I don't even know when it is going to take place. I guess my work is taking up most of my time. The ones I used to attend were geared only towards a particular sector, although the schools used to be involved. I don't know what is happening with it now. Maybe they need to advertise it more.

Gillian Malcolm - Nurse

I can't say I know a whole lot about the Montego Bay Expo, but if its mandate is to create opportunities for local businesses to grow and expand, it would only be natural for me to throw my support behind it. However, I believe the organisers need to do more to sensitise the average man about the expo so that more people can become part of it.

Suzzette O'Connor - Educator

I believe it's meeting its mandate as the event allows business operators across Jamaica, especially here in Montego Bay, to display their products and services to the wider public. It also gives other local businesses the opportunity to participate in the event. It also exposing what is being done here in Montego Bay to potential investors.
