What are your views on the recent announcement by Prime Minister Andrew Holness that the government plans to divest Jamaica's waste disposal site to private investors?
"I would support it 100 per cent ....as it is, it is draining money from government coffers. When private sector controls it, I believe they will do a better job than the government entities. People will have to give value for money if the private sector takes it over. Those who work for government tend to do a poor job."
President of the Hanover Parish Development Committee:
"Yes. Because they need to be properly managed and it is a serious investment. The working class should be made to be involved; list them on the stock market and let the smaller people get to invest. Structure the small business people so they can benefit."
"Yes. Because I can't say that the government agency is operating them with any efficiency. As long as the rules and regulations are observed, yes."
"Yes. Because the NSWMA is not really doing a good job with it. So if it is a possibility that divesting it, could work better, it should be pursued."
