Infant fatally shot during domestic disturbance
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo (AP):
Police in the southeast Missouri town of Cape Girardeau are investigating the shooting death of an infant.
The child was killed around 2:30 a.m. yesterday during a domestic disturbance.
The name and gender of the child have not been released.
Police spokesman Sgt Rick Schmidt said shots were fired at the home while police were en route. When officers arrived, the suspect was taken into custody. He remains in jail. The child was hit by one bullet.
Schmidt says a female and male involved in the dispute were related and lived at the home.
