Ex-government Minister Joseph Gilbert secured a resounding endorsement to contest the St. Patrick West constituency on behalf of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the next general election.
“I want to sincerely thank the residents of the constituency of St Patrick West for their show of support and their confidence in me,” Gilbert said following a meeting of the NDC’s St Patrick West Constituency Branch last Thursday.
“I look forward to fighting the next general election and retaining the seat as the representative for all the people of St. Patrick West.” But Prime Minister Tillman Thomas who fired Gilbert back in January will have the final say since all party candidates must be approved by the party’s executive council.
