PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Three armed men held up a branch of the Republic Bank in south Trinidad on Friday and escaped with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
They said the men, armed with a gun and cutlasses, forced customers to lie on the ground and ordered the tellers to put the cash in a bag soon after the bank in point Fortin opened for business.
The bandits escaped by forcing a motorist to hand over his new vehicle that was later found abandoned along the south trunk highway.
