Vacillating on capital punishment!

THE EDITOR, Madam:

HOW LONG are we going to vacillate about capital punishment? Our children are being murdered; our women are being assassinated; the innocent are being slaughtered. All we hear is that "the criminals and murderers are going to feel the full force of the law. No stones will be left unturned, until the criminals are brought to justice."

We are tired of hearing this adage. Action now!! Not a bag of mouth!!!

The news media are dominated with crime and violence. Can't the focus be shifted to positive things?

When a murder has been committed and the murderers are properly identified, punishment needs to be immediate. What we do is to put them behind bars, they escape, and the acts are repeated. How long are we going to allow this to continue?

Come on Mr. Knight and Mr. Patterson, time is going. Every minute we spend vacillating, a murder is being committed, and another innocent life is snuffed out. The blood of the innocent is crying out on the land.

I am, etc.,

A. IRVING, Kingston 6,
