THE EDITOR Madam:
AS TENANTS of this universe we have the right to enjoy our possessions. But while doing so, we should be also concerned about the "spiritual side of life". For my part, I get good bargains within the walls of the church - an institution in which I have often heard the words - "Put your trust in God".
I would like to deal here with the words "put your hand into the hands of God". I recall the work "Man at the gate of the year" a Mini Hoskins composition which described a man standing at the gate of the year, who asked "give me a light that I may walk safe into the unknown".
In answer to his question, he was told, "go out into the dark and put your hand into the hand of God. To thee that shall be better than light and safer than a known way."
And so, the man at the gate of the year went out into the dark and finding his hand into the hand of God was safely piloted along a very long way, and reaching a certain junction in the far east the hand of God took leave of him.
Madam Editor, the philosophy "put your hand into the hand of God" embodies light in the dark. As our Latin puts it "Nisi Dominus Frustra" unless the Lord be with us our efforts are in vain.
In closing, let me hope that my impressions will inspire some of the readers of this newspaper.
I am, etc.,
