KEENLY-contested finals highlighted the final day of the Capital and Credit All Jamaica Junior Tennis Championships at Tennis Jamaica's Eric Bell Centre at the weekend.

In a highly competitive match, Dane Vernon retained his boys 18 and Under singles title when he upset top seed Damar Johnson 7-6, 6-3.

Damian Johnson was victorious over Marcel Morgan in the boys 16 and Under final. Morgan had to retire after losing a tough first set. He had earlier in the day won the boys 14 and Under title with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Kwame Owen.

Gary Harrison and Omar Bailey teamed in the boys Under-18 doubles to beat Otis Johnson and Christopher McNeil 7-6, 6-7, 8-6. In the boys U-14 doubles, Dominic Pagon and Dax Vernon defeated Marlon Gichie and Peter Miller 6-1, 6-4.

In the girls section, Alexis Panton and Tinesta Rowe were dominant in both the 16 and 18 and Under categories as they squared off in both finals.

Panton won the 18 and Under crown 6-1, 6-3, after losing the 16 and Under final 6-1, 6-3 to Rowe earlier in the day.

Danielle Monteith came out on top in the 14 and Under final, dismissing Vanessa Thwaites 6-2, 6-2. Top seed Coco Minott was eliminated in the semi-finals after losing 6-3, 6-3 to Monteith.
