Portland Farm Queen crowned

PORT ANTONIO:

MARIE THOMAS, wearing the sash of the Jamaica Agricultural Society, (JAS), Springfield Branch, has been crowned Miss Portland Farm Queen. The coronation show was held at Shadows Lounge, Port Antonio last weekend.

The show was organised by the JAS and attracted four contestants, who showed off their talents to a fair-sized audience.

First runner-up to the queen was Delrose Moore, who was sponsored by the Fruitful Vale JAS Branch. While second runner-up title went to Venice Montique, of the Orange Bay JAS Branch.

Shana McClary, outgoing parish farm queen and student of the College of Art Science and Education (CASE), paid tribute to the winner and encouraged her to give her best at the Denbigh Agriculture Show next moonth.

Member of Parliament
for Eastern Portland, Dr. Donald Rhodd and Deputy Mayor, Dexter Rholand, brought greetings.
