FIVE Jamaican entrepreneurs have been selected among 20 regional finalists vying for the Caribbean 2000 Ernst & Young Entrepreneurial Award to be presented in Barbados this week.
They are Peter Chin, president of Alliance Investment Management; Ryland Campbell, group chairman, and Andrew Cocking, chief executive officer, both of Capital & Credit Merchant Bank; Doreen Frankson, managing director of Edgechem Jamaica; Donna Duncan, managing director of Jamaica Money Market Brokers; and Kynan Cooke and his wife Sharon, partners in Starfish Oils.
In an advertisement in yesterday's edition of The Gleaner, Ernst & Young, international chartered accountants and management consultants, said the 20 finalists were selected from 88 nominees from the Bahamas, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts/Nevis, St. Lucia and St. Vincent.
Eight of the other finalists are from Trinidad & Tobago, five from Barbados and two from Grenada.
The award will be presented during the Caribbean Entrepreneur of the Year Conference and Awards Banquet which began in Barbados yesterday and ends tomorrow, September 16.
