Adams still the man

St JOHN'S, Antigua, CANA: JAMAICAN middle order batsman and useful left-arm spinner Jimmy Adams has been retained as captain of the West Indies team for the 2000-2001 tour of Australia which starts in November.

Adams, who led the regional side the home series against Zimbabwe and Pakistan as well as the summer tour of England earlier this year, was ra-appointed at a metting of the Board of Directors of the West Indies Cricket Board here Saturday.

At the same meeting, the WICB also accepted an inviation for an historic first tour of Zimbabwe in June and July, 2001.

This tour will comprise three Test matches and a triangular one-day series.

In addition, following this tour, as part of its contribution to the development of cricket worldwide, the West Indies will tour Kenya for a three match one-day series.
