Heritage Week celebrations

THE 16th ANNUAL St. Mary Heritage Week Awards ceremony, concert and street dance is set for Wednesday, October 11, beginning 3:30 p.m. in the Annotto Bay Square.

About 20 persons and institutions will receive awards for there outstanding contribution in various fields.

A special award will be made to the Island Special Consta-bulary Force for the 50 years of unbroken service to the people of Jamaica. The Jamaica Constabulary Force Band will also be recognised for its contribution to the island's music-scape.

The ceremony will feature a programme of music, speech, dance and drama as well as a literary exhibition.

Street dancing is expected to begin at 6:00 p.m. to music, supplied by Rings Disco, assisted by Richie and the Crew.

Emcee will be Donovan Archie.

It will be free to the public.
