WESTERN BUREAU -
THE lead in the National A League will be at stake this afternoon when joint leaders Violet Kickers and third place Village United meet in the feature game at the Elleston-Wakeland Youth Centre in Falmouth at 3:00 p.m.
Violet Kickers and the idle Duhaney Park are tied at the top on 13 points each while Village are next on 11 points, the same as Black Stars who will play away to fifth-placed Galaxy at Woodside in another crucial game.
Village, the only unbeaten team left in the league, will start favourites over Kickers who have failed to win in the past three rounds.
The Marvin Tate-coached Village have not lost at home all season and will be cheered on by what is expected to be a partisan home crowd.
Fabian Dawkins, the veteran Paul 'Tegat' Davis and experienced defenders Shane Crawford and Mark Williams will spearhead the Village team which has played two games less than Kickers.
The Montego Bay team which sprinted to the front of the points race by winning its first four matches before hitting a skid, will be bolstered by the inclusion of veteran Norman Foster and the returns of central defender Omar Kerr and midfielder Garfield Christie.
Galaxy are coming off a 5-1 win over St. George's and will be confident at home against Black Stars who are coming off back to back wins.
