Stars Line-up for One Blood Carl benefit show

CAPLETON has often been criticised for concentrating too much on lighting "more fires," instead of helping to out some. But the fact is that the controversial deejay is among the most charitable dancehall stars.

"Whole heap a show wha I do is jus fi help a man. Nuff time I doan even collect no money," he told The Star.

In addition, Capleton often offers the services of himself and his David House Crew to selected people in need, exactly as he is doing for One Blood Carl, probably the most effective street promoter in the recording business."

Capleton, the David House Crew and Tuff Gong's Norman "Bullpuss" Bryan are behind "Love Is Coming At You," which is being staged to benefit One Blood Carl (Carl Anthony Tho-mas), at the Colbeck Poolside, Old Harbour on Sunday, November 26, featuring the David House Crew, Sizzla, Elephant Man, Lexxus and Junior Kelly.

Carl told us last week that he got his break in the business peddling records for Junior Reid's One Blood label to local shops:

"My mother used to be a cook for insurance people at Mutual Life, so she knew Bagga Brown. Bagga introduced me to Newton Merritt, who called me to work for Junior Reid. I used to earn $80 a week promoting records," he said.
