Bling Dawg

  • Bling Dawg's music video

As his promotional train rolls, the music video for Bling Dawg the hot single by rising DJ Ricky Rudy, a.k.a Bling Dawg, has been shot and should be edited this weekend. The video was produced by Leo 'Big Daddy' Oreggio, who said he was proud of the end product.

    Stevie Face

  • Vasco Records' latest project

Record producers Vasco Carney (Vasco Records) and Phillip Linton (Arrows Records) have got together to form A.V. Productions to produce music videos for their artistes.

The first production from the new company is Stevie Face's I'm In Lov, which is among a number of new releases on Arrow's new Firecoal rhythm.

The video, which premiered last week on both TVJ and CVM was shot in Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth and features Stevie Face, recent winner of the Irie FM/CME talent contest, and model Majeba. It was directed by Nordia Rose and camera work was done by Ras Kassa.

"Music videos have become the way to promote young acts and we've decided that we will have to make it central in promoting our acts," said Carney.

  • New star

New and rising reggae singer Christopher has made it onto the VP Records yearly compilation series Strictly the Best 26.

His single All I Have To Give, a remake of the Backstreet Boys hit, which was produced by Louis 'Flabba' Malcolm on the Hurricane rhythm for Mo Music Productions, was one of 16 songs which made the final cut of songs for the longest running compilation series.

The talented singer, who has been living in the Bronx area of New York for some years now, returned to Jamaica recently to concentrate on and further develop his career. Since he returned to the island last summer, he has been capitalising on the success of All I Have To Give, by recording for a number of the island's top producers.

All I Have peaked at No. 11 on the New York Reggae Top 30 Singles chart. It is currently doing well on various charts in Jamaica.

  • Iley Dread promotes new album

'The Ras', Iley Dread, is keeping busy on the world stage in an effort to promote his album A Friend For Life and the single Mama.

A tour of Europe has been confirmed and the singer also has his sights set on the United States. On the last Saturday in January he will be at the Lions' Den Concert Hall, Queens New York, along with Prezident Brown, Bushman and Chrisinti.

"One thing nobody will ever say, is that I didn't take the right approach to promoting this album. I am determined to find myself in as many places as I can in order that people may receive this message which I consider to be very important for good living all over the world," he said.

  • 'Juicie Lucie' Miss Hedonism ll

Former Bloomingdale's department store director of customer service in New York, Lucille Farucci-Costa, is this year's 'Miss Hedonism II'. For 19 years she has been staying at the property and this year she has visited four times so far.

At Hedonism II they call her 'Juicie Lucie' - never Mrs. Farucci-Costa.

"Some of the team members I met on my first trip are still very much here! This is MY hotel - and even though at one time I dared to venture to another SuperClubs property on the island, I spent only one day - and hurried right back to my darling and beloved Hedonism II! Nothing - absolutely nothing - can take its place, in my heart!" she said.
