A thought-provoking article on violence

THE EDITOR, Madam:

AFTER READING the article written by Rev. Lennox Scarlett entitled: 'Breeding Violence', in your Religion Feature all I could say was a resounding "wow". He hit the nail right on the head.

I am an African-American living in the United States, and of course we have our own mental-illnesses in the form of violence. But I must say that he captured the essence of the human psyche which lends itself to the pedagogy of violence perfectly. I would just love it if he would continue to write on this subject.

I read your paper every Saturday morning. I have read a lot of very inspiring articles in your online Gleaner, but I think that this particular article is by far the most thought-provoking.

I am etc.,
