A worthwhile and inspiring series

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I MUST write to express my appreciation to The Gleaner for the newly added "What's Right with Jamaica" section on the front page. Too often, we focus too heavily on what's wrong with the system. I am not saying that we are to be like the proverbial ostrich and bury our heads in the sand. However, being constantly bombarded with negativity can cause a sense of hopelessness and extreme despair to set in. If we would try to focus more of our attention on what's right with people and things and less attention on what's wrong and if we would spend more time working on a solution or praying for them we'd be amazed to find how things may change for the better.

Thanks again for your effort to paint a more balanced picture of Jamaica we are not all crime and violence. I am looking forward to reading more of these articles.

I am etc.,
