Kudos for Gleaner series

THE EDITOR, Madam:

RECENTLY YOU published a letter that deserves further attention. Someone suggested that it is time for Jamaicans living at home to tap into the tremendous talent and resources possessed by Jamaicans living abroad. This is an excellent suggestion and your new column "What's Right with Jamaica" provides a great method for doing this.

It would be wonderful if you would publish contact information for the people and organisations profiled. There are many Jamaicans living abroad who are looking for good causes to support. Unfortunately, many have been turned off by the bureaucracy and mixed records that plague many of the well known charitable organisations. Publishing contact information would allow people to contribute directly to the work that is "Right with Jamaica".

May I also suggest that you also create an area on your web site where the contact information for "What's Right with Jamaica" organisations could be archived. This would be a tremendous way of empowering Jamaicans everywhere to begin working together to rebuild Jamaica.

Congratulations on a column well done. Finally a light amidst the darkness!

I am etc.,
