Kymani Marley to hit the big screen

Kymani Marley

By Andrew Clunis, Freelance Writer

KYMANI MARLEY is getting ready to make his big screen debut, having received roles in two upcoming movies. One is called One Love, written and produced by Trevor Rhone and the other Shottas, produced by Jamaican-born movie producer, Cess Silvera.

"This is going to reveal a whole new side to Kymani. Specialist Dillion, the aritiste's manager told The Gleaner. He is extremely talented and our job is for the world to see that".

Specialist Dillion is revered in the music business, mainly for his exploits at honing talents. He possesses a long trail of successes. He's now determined to make Kymani Marley one of the great success stories of the new century. 'We know that nobody will probably ever attain Bob Marley's greatness, but I promise you that soon, we will have another star of similar calibre on our hands," said a confident Specialist. "We are taking our time, because we don't just build people and leave them out there. We are going all the way with him," he explained.

Many people have been wondering what Clifton Specialist Dillon, who brought international respectability to the dancehall acts, through his exploits with double Grammy winner Shabba Ranks, has been up to?

Well, Specialist keeps moving up the showbiz ladder. He is expanding on his musical operations in Miami, providing a wider range of services to entertainers in the hope of making Shang Records one of the largest Jamaican music companies in North America.

According to Dillon, Kymani's album The Journey has been doing well on the international market. He also disclosed, the artiste is no longer signed to Gee Street Records, that produced the album. "We are looking toward a major breakthrough. I can get him signed at any time, but we want to be right when it happens."

Dillon also said, he's looking to build Shang records into an entity, which offers distribution and production. He is expanding his recently acquired premises in Miami to facilitate a recording studio. In addition, he plans to open an office in Jamaica, before year end and to sign on other young Jamaican talent. The company will be investment-driven, with Shang taking on productive capacities for executive producers all over. Dillon is also concerned about the general attitude of persons in the music industry. "We need some togetherness. Everybody can't be putting down everybody. We need to extend a hand to each other more often, "Dillon said.
