THE EDITOR, Madam:
THE MINISTER of Water and Housing has sent the following letter of apology to a customer who complained in a letter to the Editor about the National Water Commission.
Dear Mrs. Roberts-Francis
First, as the Minister of Water and Housing, please accept my deepest apology for the inconveniences suffered at the hands of the National Water Commission.
I have been advised that the matter has been dealt with by the Regional Manager, Mr. Wayne Barrett, and that the necessary steps have already been taken, including the removal of the duplicate account from the system, waiving the reconnection fee, reconnecting your water supply, repairing damage to your driveway and an apology.
Let me hope that the measures taken will in some way ease the distraught.
I do believe, however, that the National Water Commission should take further steps to regain your confidence in its ability to provide you with a reliable water supply and to ensure that customers like yourself are indeed happy with the service provided.
I am, therefore, writing to the president of the NWC, Mr. E.G. Hunter, that further consideration be given to you as it pertains to this matter.
Again, please accept my apology and continue being one of our on-time paying customers.
God bless you.
I am, etc.,
Dr. E.C. Karl Blythe, MP
Minister of Water
and Housing
