SEVEN-YEAR-OLD identical twins, Kerry-Ann and Terry-Ann Talbert, can't help laughing at people who keep mistaking one for the other. These include taxi operators, their teachers, friends at school and can you imagine, their mother is also a victim.
"Yes, Mom keeps calling Terry for Kerry and it's so amusing. Our mother don't even know us different, seems she has to tag us," Kerry-Ann said smiling.
The twins feel that if their father, Wilfred, is able to tell them apart, there is no reason why their mother cannot do the same. "I believe dad knows me different from my sister because my face is a little bit rounder than hers" Terry-Ann said. And, she was right on close examination.
One can't help looking at the twins, who are usually smartly dressed for school, at Kellits Primary. One doesn't wear something the other is not wearing and this is one of the problems their teachers face.
"It is fun when teacher keep calling Terry and I am looking at Kerry, and when she gets miserable I laugh 'cause she must know better," Terry said.
One teacher said it is indeed hard to "know who is who because they even have the same attitude and can be seen playing together. They even take the same transport to and from school," she added.
The twins usually laugh whenever they talk about taxi drivers.
"Even when I pay my fare the man calling me back to pay my fare again 'cause they don't know us different. And they do it so often ," Terry-Ann said.
Besides the fun of being identical twins, Terry-Ann and Kerry-Ann take their lessons seriously and would like to hold respectable jobs. Terry-Ann who lists her favourite subjects as Mathematics and English would like to become a teacher to help slow students.
Kerry-Ann says she would like to become a nurse to help sick people, especially those who cannot afford it.
The twins said they would not like to be separated too long from each other even when they become adults.
