We need the 'exposure' Mr Reynolds

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I once again ask the question 'why are we so afraid of the truth'? C. Roy Reynolds speaks against the very thing that Jamaica needs exposure. Maybe Jamaica wants to sweep the dirt under the carpet so that the rest of the world will not know what is going on, but if Mr. Reynolds and others who do not want the truth to be exposed, did something about this mess long ago then the 'carpet' would not be needed.

Yes, there are criminal elements in the society, some are in uniforms, some are in high places and some are not. Criminals are criminals and should be tried and punished according to their crime and please note that the operative word here is 'tried'.

Being angry about Amnesty International's intervention is not the way to deal with this or any matter. AI did not make these things up! They do exist. Now how do we deal with it as a nation is another thing. The energy that we use to bash AI and the other Human Rights groups, should we not use to make the nation better?

Those who are lost we cannot have back but there is no reason for the entire nation of youths to be wiped out.

I am etc.,
