Not voting is no badge of honour

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THAT ARTICLE on "Why I choose not to vote" was one of the most self-centred and stupid articles I have read in a long time. It is an attitude like that which has helped Jamaica to become the place it is now.

I agree that many times, choosing between the JLP and the PNP is like choosing between a rock and a hard place.

Yet, it is still up to me to choose which one I want, and not to let someone else (namely partisans) choose for me. As for the NDM, my views on them should not be biased by other people. If their selectors didn't vote for them, does that automatically mean I wouldn't?

If you don't see someone you want to vote for, then how are you going to make a difference?

Are you just going to give up and say "Mi cyaa bada?" If so, shame on you, you are a lazy person who doesn't care about Jamaica. Not having voted by choice is not a badge of honour and should not be thought of as such.

I am etc.,
