BUBBLING BROWN SUGAR

The Jamaica Musical Theatre Company's (JMTC) 2001 Summer Production of Loften Mitchell's Broadway hit "Bubbling Brown Sugar" starts tonight at 8 at the Phillip Sherlock Centre for the Creative and Performing Arts (UWI Mona). The play will run from July 6 to Sunday, August 19, 2001. One show on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and two shows on Sundays at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Proceeds are in aid of the Kingston YMCA's Youth Development Programme (formerly the Street Corner Boys' Project). Admission $500.

SHABACH 2001 GOSPEL CONCERT

The 'Shabach 2001 Gospel Concert' will be held tomorrow at the Church of God of Prophecy, 41 Old Harbour Road. The show will feature: Psalmist Wayne Palmer, Robert and Jenieve Bailey, DJ Nicholas, Beloved, Ziggy Soul and Carlene Davis. Proceeds in aid of the building fund for a Skills Training Centre in Willowdene. Showtime starts at 7 p.m. Admission $250 pre-sold and $300 at the gate.

RED STRIPE BEER VIBES

Ras Promotions presents 'Red Stripe Beer Vibes' at the Caymanas Polo Club tomorrow night. The show will be hosted by Bounty Killer and will feature musical juggling by True Tone Sound System, Tony Matterhorn, Renaissance, Fire Links, Black Chiney, Travellers, DJ Arif Cooper & Kurt Riley from Fame FM and Code Red. Sponsors of the event are Ghetto Youth International and Matterhorn, part proceeds go to the Marigold Child Care Centre. Gates open at 9 p.m. Admission $600 pre-sold and $700 at the gate.

GALA CONCERT NIGHT

Patronal Festival Week Homecoming 2001 Gala Concert Night on Sunday July 8, 2001 on the lawns of King's House starting at 6 p.m. Featuring Ernie Smith, Sabrina Williams, Carole Reid, Easton Lee, Harold Davis Band with Seretse Small. Admission $100. Proceeds in aid of Community Outreach.

Epiphany Too, 73 Knutsford Boulevard, New Kingston presents 'The Children Are The Future And They All Need A Family, So Let's Help Them Stay In School.' Featuring Prilly Hamilton (former Third World lead singer), 14K 'Mr. Fiesta' and Tanisha Lugg live in concert on Sunday July 8, 2001. Special guest will be Suzan Couch. Gate opens at 6 p.m. and showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are available at Music Mart, Twin Gates Plaza.
