Affordable Internet access coming tomorrow WORLD Telenet International, a subsidiary of Infochannel Limited, has announced the introduction of "Marathon Light," a new Internet service designed to provide greater access to customers at a more reasonable price. The service will become available tomorrow. According to Infochannel's Marketing Manager, Herman McDonald, Marathon Light is not only faster and more reliable but offers "unlimited access to the Internet at less than US$1.20 per day." This service, Mr. McDonald said, will also provide subscribers with "full 56 Kbps dial up access, global roaming with ipass, free personal Web page hosting and one e-mail address with advanced email." The package also provides total customer care. Mr. McDonald said as more Jamaicans acquire computers and log on to the Internet, "service providers are challenged to ensure that users have the type of service that will allow them to access the Internet quickly at more affordable rates." Mr. McDonald added that in introducing this product, "we are not only being more competitive but achieving our goal of satisfying our clients." The recent acquisition of World Telenet International, forms part of Infochannel's expansion programme and enhances its efforts to increase its capacity, while providing more effective service. Both companies continue to operate as separate entities until the change-over is complete. Back to Business
