Western BureauBOUNTY Killer did something on Reggae Sumfest's International Night Part 2 that he didn't on Dancehall Night.
Smile.
Miss Ivy's last son was a study in relaxation on Sunday evening as he strolled on-stage during Richie Stephen's set, his trademark black interrupted by a white shirt.
The two did Maniac, before Bounty did something else he did not - or was not allowed to - do on Dancehall Night.
He performed The Mystery Is The Man and Follow Mi Arrow to tremendous applause.
He then addressed the Dancehall Night debacle, which ended with thrown bottles and gunshots.
"Something happened the other morning that was very unprofessional-- Over the years I am the most picky picky artist, but I never pick on anybody on Reggae Sumfest," Bounty said.
"Mi sey mi no want nobody pon stage. Oonu see wha happen - 'whe de bway deh', 'whe Killa deh'. Me fi wuk pon de same stage wid oonu? Me an oonu a bans an group? Me an oonu a N'Sync an Backstreet Boys?" he demanded to howls of delight.
He was characteristically firm in his beliefs.
"I apologise to know that they disrupted my performance and I am upset. I cannot apologise for anyone - every man mus' stan him own han'.
"Oonu mek oonuself happy, but leave Rodney Price alone," he said to the deejay fraternity.
"Dese guys mus respec the music--You win de Grammy award, yu fight Capleton offa Dancehall Night an stop him food," Bounty said in obvious reference to Beenie Man.
However, it would appear that the Killer has turned his back on a certain kind of musical conflict.
"Before me mek dem bring me dung me lef deejay business gi dem -- Is upliftment time. De music bigga dan me an Beenie."
"A 13 casket me see pon TV an in de newspaper. Is pure old people, dem no commit no crime. Is jus de people aroun dem," Bounty Killer said, his words striking a chord with the crowd.
Reggae Sumfest's Dancehall Night ended when a shower of bottles sent Merciless and his 'War Family' scampering off stage at about 5:45 a.m. on Friday. About 15 minutes later, a volley of gunshots resounded on the infield of the concert area.
