Azan fined for fakes - Bashco head found guilty of importing counterfeit shoes

THE TAX Court yesterday fined Bashco Trading Company Limited and its managing director, Gassan Azan, $21 million after they were found guilty of knowingly importing and having in their possession more than 30,000 pairs of counterfeit sneakers in 1999.

New passports for Sept 3

NEW MACHINE readable passports which become available locally on September 3, will cost $2,500 for adults and $1,500 for minors. Both currently cost $1,000. Adult passports are issued for 10 years while those for minors are valid for five years.
