No political favouritism THE EDITOR, Sir: THE PRIME Minister has made a genuine attempt to facilitate the growth and development of every member of his Cabinet. This he has done to both Simpson Miller and Phillips. The recent published column by Dawn Ritch is therefore inaccurate. To accuse Prime Minister Patterson of favouritism, is therefore a disingenuous act on the part of your columnist, deliberately designed to mislead the Jamaican people. Both Simpson Miller and Phillips, through their hard work, have placed themselves in an excellent position for the top position when the time comes. Thanks to Prime Minister Patterson for not acting selfishly and dogmatically in handling the affairs of the nation and the PNP. Unlike others who eliminated the entire second tier leadership in their political organisation, Prime Minister Patterson has preserved and built a cadre of leaders within the PNP, who can take over the organisation when he demits office at the appropriate time. Ministers Simpson Miller and Phillips, are just two of the long line of possibilities in the PNP. At the appropriate time, the usual vibrant democratic process of the PNP, will decide who leads the organisation into the new millennium. Advisers and sympathisers like your columnist, can only serve to harm our beloved Simpson Miller's chances. I am etc., FLOYD MORRIS (Senator) femorris@cwjamaica
