Little big girl

Clarka Irie (left), Laurie-Ann Gordon and Master Link. - Contributed

WHAT could have a 12-year-old St. Jago High School student been thinking about when she decided to do a song with two hardcore deejays?

Ask Laurie-Ann Gordon and she will tell you it's more than just for fun. "My father is a record producer and I have always been singing. So, if he has a label why not get some exposure?" she quips.

Now Laurie-Ann is looking for big things from Tour Guide ,a song which also features deejays Clarka Irie and Master Link. The song, produced by Ronald Gordon is recorded on the Original label.

Tour Guide comes at a time when Jamaica is trying to attract as many tourists as possible, and little Laurie-Ann plays a tourist desperate to find some great sight-seeing places in Ocho Rios.

Producer Gordon recognises that the song could well be popular. "I think it will make good airplay at this time. My little girl (Laurie-Ann) is also a good singer," he said

Gordon said his daughter has been singing since she was four years old. "She would sing in the bathroom, doing cover versions. And, people tell me she can sing, her voice is a good blend with the deejays."

Clarka Irie says he has no problem doing another single with Laurie-Ann since "she is dedicated and serious with whatever she does."
