THE EDITOR, Sir:
This is an open letter to the Member of Parliament for East Rural St. Andrew, Mr. Oliver Clue. I am writing on behalf of the citizens of Housing Drive, Kintyre, Kingston 7. For over 21 years we have been asking for the roads to be cut as we are walking on tracks. The road is fixed to a point. There are a lot of people living beyond that point. I have called your office over a hundred times and have been told by you and your secretary that you have to wait on the budget to be read, before anything can be done. Is it that this budget is different from the one being read annually?
We are not asking for a highway 2000, all we are asking for is that you widen the road; you promised to call and visit and you have not done so. You even went as far as to promise that you would send a tractor and we should purchase the gas oil and pay the tractor driver for his time. This have been done and the residents have taken back their monies, so we are back to square one.
We have contacted Mr. Richards of the K.S.A.C. He also said he would come and look at the roads but up until now he has not done so. We need the roads to be fixed.
Mr. Clue we are pleading for your assistance. The roads are in a deplorable condition, please fix the roads so that we can have a road to walk on instead of track.
We are tired of all your promises, show us that you are a man of your words and not of empty promises.
Please help Housing Drive. Housing Drive need proper roads not tracks any more.
I am, etc.,
J. WILLIAMS
