Let's keep it positive!

THE EDITOR, SIR:

OVER the years, Radio Jamaica (RJR) has always sought ways to reach out to its listeners.

One of the programmes that came out of these efforts is Keep it Positive aired on Thursdays from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. and which is hosted by Dr. Paulette McGregor.

I am very motivated by this programme, which is also educational.

Quite recently, Dr. McGregor interviewed Ms. Marjorie Whylie (who could be regarded as another Ms. Lou), singer Marcia Griffiths, university lecturer Dr. Clinton Hutton, who mentioned that he never attended a secondary school and a Mr. Phillip Fender, an investor in Telecommunication "Call Centre".

From my point of view, there is one problem with this programme. This programme lasts for one hour, and includes interviews, questions and answers by the listeners, and radio commercials.

To my mind, one hour is inadequate. Maybe Mr. Spaulding could review this programme for educational and general knowledge content.

Jamaica needs to be continuously positive and I would like to acknowledge the efforts of persons like Dr. McGregor, and say to her, continue to give of your best to Jamaica.

I am, etc.,

DENNIS SINGH

Kingston.
