VINTAGE FEST AT LA ROOSE

L.A.C.E Foundation presents 'Soca Reggae Vintage Fest 2001', a fund-raising showcase, which will be held at the La Roose Restaurant tomorrow. It features Pat Kelly, Ken Boothe, Calypso Rose, Phyllis Dillon, Stanley and the Fab 5 Band. Music will be provided by Afrique Disco and other guest selectors. Gates open at 8 p.m. All proceeds will be in aid of Lyon's Association for the Children and Elderly (LACE Foundation). Admission is $400 pre-sold and $500 at the gate.

MENTO AND JONKUNNU

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission will stage its second annual 'Adult Mento Band Competition', as well as the 'Jamaica Jonkunnu Mento Festival', both events will be held on Sunday on the lawns of the Ranny Williams Entertainment Complex from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The festival will feature a Jonkunnu Street Parade, which will showcase live performances from Jonkunnu bands which will travel from Constant Spring Road to the Ranny Williams Complex. There will also be a Jonkunnu Children's Costume Competition, as well as many other attractions.

Gospel in Rio Bueno

'Gospel Explosion 2001' takes place today at the Rio Bueno Baptist Church, Rio Bueno, St. Ann. Joan Flemming and the Inspirers will perform, along with local artistes. Admission is $250 for adults and $150 for children pre-sold, $300 at the gate. Proceeds in aid of the church building.

Talent, fashion at Pier 1

Annett Promotions presents a night of 'Fashion and Talent' at Pier 1, Montego Bay, tonight, with Madd Squad and special guests the Goofy Brothers. Admission is $300. First 10 ladies free.

Ruins set to enchant

The JHTA Ocho Rios Runaway Bay area chapter charity event, 'An Enchanting Evening at the Ruins', will be held today at Ruins by the Falls, Ocho Rios, beginning at 7 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Errol Lee and the Bare Essentials. Proceeds from the event will go towards area charities and area marketing. Admission is $1,500.

A potter's fair

The Association of Jamaican Potters, in collaboration with Tastee Ltd. and Burger King, will be staging an Art and Craft Fair on the grounds of the Forestry Department, 173 Constant Spring Road, tomorrow. The Jamaica Horticultural Society (J.H.S.) will host their two-day 'Christmas Bazaar' at the J.H.S. Show Grounds, Hope Gardens, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, a repeat of a Saturday show. There will be plants, art and craft items, clothing and a wide variety of products on sale.

Clash at Black Ants Corner

Jam Rock and Bass Odyssey square off at Black Ants Corner, Runaway Bay, on Sunday. Admission is $150, first 25 ladies free.

Mini Miss Windsor Heights

'Fun Day and Inaugural Mini Miss Windsor Heights and Charles Town' is on at Windsor Heights Ball Ground on Sunday. Music is by Mello Phonic. There will be six-a-side football, bounce-a-bout, merry go-round and go kart racing. Adults pay $100, children pay $50.

Hatsome hosts a party

The Hatsome Music School, located at 28 Keats Avenue, Duhaney Park, presents a 'Grand Christmas Concert at the Duhaney Park Primary School on Sunday. It features performances from Toots Hibbert, Abijah, Uton Greene, Eddie Fitzroy and others. Music will be provided by Nothing Fancy and backing will be provided by the Melody Revealers band. Proceeds are in aid of musical instruments for the music school.

The Andrews Memorial Hospital presents 'An Evening of Classical Elegance', featuring the New England Youth Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Virginia Gene Rittenhouse, on Sunday at the Little Theatre, 4 Tom Redcam Avenue. Proceeds are in aid of the Andrews Memorial Hospital East Wing Building. Admission is adults $500 and children under 12 $200 at the gate.

Hampton Old Girls go caroling

The Hampton Old Girls Association presents its 'Annual Carol Service and Christmas Dinner' at the St. Margaret's Anglican Church at 167 Old Hope Road on Sunday, beginning at 5 p.m. Admission is $600.

100% reggae at Harry's

Harry's Bar will be hosting '100% Undiluted Roots Rock Reggae' this and every Sunday. Musical juggling will be provided by Rockers International sound station. The event will get underway at 6 p.m. Admission is $100 before 10 p.m. and $200 thereafter.

TJ's Pit Stop Jerk Centre Restaurant and Sports Bar presents their weekly session, 'Vintage All Day All Nite Jam Session', every Sunday. The session will get underway at 3 p.m. and run until you say when. Menu includes Jerk Chicken, Roast Fish, Jerk Pork and Fish Tea on the house. Admission is free.

'Get in the Groove'

Sunday nights will come alive with 'Get in the Groove', featuring music of the 60s, 70s and 80s at the Jonkanoo Lounge, Hilton Kingston Hotel, 77 Knutsford Boulevard. The weekly theme party that begins at 7 p.m. and goes up until you say when will see the juggling of music from yesteryear by Andrew Henry. Nite Traxx Disco, in association with Crowne Electronics, will host a 'Christmas Treat' on Wednesday, December 19. This year the focus will be on May Pen, Clarendon.

Latin Night at Carlos Cafe

Latino Noche is on at Carlos' Cafe, 22 Belmont Road, New Kingston. This and every Thursday there will be drink specials, dinner and show starting at 7 p.m. It features DJ Sunshine.
