Concerning the prayers of church folk

THE EDITOR, Sir:

ONCE AGAIN church folk have organised another period of fasting and prayer to either receive word as to how the nation's problems can be solved and/or receive divine intervention in resolving these same problems.

Are church folk trying to convince us that they serve such an obstinate God that despite their numerous gatherings, vigils and breakfasts, He refuses to let them in on the solutions to this nation's problems?

To me the divine intervention which they seek is to be found in a dedication by them to walk the various communities in which their churches are located and if it's not too much to ask, to simply socialise with the people and sow seeds of righteousness.

I challenge them therefore to attempt this and if it is done, then this nation will realise results exceedingly more than we can ask for or imagine.

I am etc.,
