Dancehall stumbles at the Grammy
When Shabba captured the Reggae Grammy in 1991 with Raw As Ever, he became the first dancehall act to do so. However, 10 years and 10 Grammy awards later, there are no hardcore dancehall nominations for the 2001 Reggae Grammy.

The evolution of the dancehall, which was created on the bedrock of reggae music, has created fame for Jamaica worldwide and is intrinisically linked to images of paradise, sunshine, and white sand beaches associsated with the island.
