Milverton Reynolds, Managing director of the National Housing Development Corporation - File MILVERTON REYNOLDS has quietly taken up his new post as managing director of the National Housing Development Corporation, replacing Christopher Honeywell who resigned in February after exposing mammoth financial problems at the state agency.
Honeywell departed the agency following allegations of political interference by portfolio Minister Dr. Karl Blythe, who is said to have influenced the board in reversing a decision taken on the termination of NHDC personnel found to have issued suspect certificates of payment to contractors on Operation PRIDE projects.
The NHDC is currently being probed by an 'investigative' commission led by Erwin Angus, appointed by the Prime Minister days after the scandal broke.
Angus and his three commissioners were given six weeks is to analyse more than 100 Operation PRIDE sites islandwide to determine their status, assess the amount and quality of work done by contractors and whether they have delivered value for the funds paid out.
That probe should be finalised by the end of this month.
Reynolds, who departed Life of Jamaica at the end of February, is returning to the housing sector after four years. He previously ran the National Housing Trust for seven years.
He did not return calls for comment.
