Seba, Bull Bay hunt glory

By Paul A. Reid, Staff Reporter

WESTERN BUREAU:

SEBA UNITED and Bull Bay are 90 minutes away from a place in next season's National Premier League as they take 2-0 leads into this afternoon's return leg semi-finals of the National A League.

Seba United take a 2-0 buffer into their game against Rivoli at the Spanish Town Prison Oval while Bull Bay will host Mt. Salem who they lead 4-2 in the other game at Harbour View.

Even losses by a margin of one goal would not be enough to stop the teams from advancing to the final and an automatic berth in the Premier League.

Both games will start at 3:30.

Despite dominating the first legs at Jarrett Park on Sunday, neither of the coaches, Seba United's Dr. Dean Weatherly or Bull Bay's Barrington Gaynor, were ready to count their chickens and are both waiting until after today's games.

Seba are bidding to return to the NPL after being relegated to the National A League last season while Bull Bay are hoping to continue their trend of earning promotion over the past three seasons.

Gaynor, a former national wing back, has guided Bull Bay from the Kingston and St. Andrew Syd Bartlett League to the Major league and the National A League in three seasons.

Rivoli's Harold Thomas is hoping this will be third time lucky after guiding another St. Catherine team, Central Link, to the A League semi-finals twice while Mt. Salem's player/coach Paul 'Tegat' Davis will be hoping to guide his second team to the NPL.

Davis was in charge of Village when they went from the Trelawny Division One to the Premier League in three years.

If Seba United and Bull Bay can replicate their performances from Sunday's first legs, it should be a given that they should advance to the final.

TODAY'S GAMES

Bull Bay vs Mt. Salem at Harbour View

Rivoli vs Seba United at Prison Oval

Games start at 3:30 p.m.
