Other kids need Net access too

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE INTENTION of C&W Jamaica president, Gary Barrow, to bridge the divide between privileged students, underprivileged and excluded students in primary and secondary school is commendable. However, what about the children who reside in Places of Safety and Children's Homes? Who will be their benefactor?

These children are also important to Jamaica's economic survival. Will you - or your peers - think of providing them with this opportunity? At 18 years, they are expected to join the ranks of the employed, and otherwise contribute to Jamaica's growth. Will they be able to do this without computer skills and Internet knowledge? Will they feel 'included?' Can you or your business friends help them by providing Places of Shelters and Children's Homes with at least one computer, one printer and access to the Internet?

I am etc.,
