
US attorney Johnnie Cochran is quite pleased with the performance of Miss Exchange All-Age during a tour recently of the school, adopted by Sandals Ocho Rios. - Contributed FAMED US attorney Johnnie Cochran has praised Jamaican teachers for the outstanding work they have been doing in the country.
During a tour of Exchange All-Age School in St. Ann recently, organised by Sandals Ocho Rios, which has adopted the school, Mr. Cochran addressed the students at a general assembly and told them of the importance of their teachers.
"Don't take them for granted, they are some of the most important people in any country," he said.
He also urged the students to work hard so they could pass the Grade 9 Achievement Test and move on to the high school system.
Success, he said, comes through hard work and "preparation, preparation, preparation."
Mr. Cochran said he hoped his presence at the school would inspire students to strive for excellence.
He also presented a number of copies of his book "Journey to Justice" to the school's library and met with teachers and representatives of Sandals Ocho Rios present at the event.
The top attorney also praised the efforts of Sandals Ocho Rios in assisting the school and the community at large.
