NEM Insurance to open New Kingston branch

Clarke and Jarrett

NEM INSURANCE Company (Jamaica) Limited, the country's oldest general insurance company, will officially open their New Kingston branch tomorrow at 5:00 p.m.

Operating in Jamaica since 1934, the 68-year-old downtown based company, 96 per cent owned by Jamaica National Building Society, says the move to New Kingston came in response to the overwhelming need to bring convenient service closer to the uptown community.

NEM personnel have been occupying the appointed branch situated at 3 Barbados Avenue since July 1. Headed by Marcia Chung and Clive Myers the branch offers direct and corporate services to the insuring public.

With an earlier opening of the Savanna-la-Mar office, this is the second branch opened by NEM this year, bringing the island-wide network to eight.

The Bishop of Jamaica & The Cayman Islands, Rt. Rev. Alfred C. Reid, will officiate at the opening ceremony in the blessing of the building. George Magnus, Chairman, Errol T. Zaidie, Managing Director and Kathleen Moss, Director NEM Insurance Company along with Hon. Oliver Clarke O.J. President PSOJ and Earl Jarrett, General Manager JNBS, will all participate in the ceremony and the symbolic cutting of the ribbon.
