Very grateful but...

The Editor, Sir:

I AM expressing appreciation to the authorities involved in the repaving of Darlington Drive, in Old Harbour for the splendid work that has been done. I had used this medium to complain about that very road, and at the time, I had called upon the Member of Parliament, Miss Jennifer Edwards to better represent us. Well Sir, Darlington Drive is now as smooth as silk. Thanks MP Edwards for your input. We are pleased, however, not entirely so.

I must bring to your attention the depth of the grills in the manholes. They are dangerously deep and some of them have in no grills at all. Residents have had to be sticking tree limbs in those to indicate to us motorists the death trap that lies in wait for us. It is absolutely ridiculous for such a wonderful piece of paving work to be done and yet some parts of it are still dangerous.

I am etc.
