IN THE early forenoon August 6, roaming through the St. William Grant Park, I heard a group of seated men arguing about the scenes of the beauty of nature. It happened that one of them remarked, "search the world through no country has the beauty of nature like Jamaica?"
The remark made by that man made me reflect on Port Antonio and I recalled the panorama of the harbour, the mountain range with its verdure and purplish tops surmounted by puffy snow-white clouds against an azure background, the peaceful glens, the stately palms, the inviting picturesque cascades, the gorgeous Rio Grande and the non-stop wind emerging from the blue Caribbean.
It is so refreshing, soothing, caressing, welcoming and invigorating, a sort of balm dismissing the emotions of despair.
I nominate Port Antonio as the number one (in Jamaica) monument of the beauties of nature.
