Jamaica is black man country

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IN RESPONSE to a letter written by Vernal Bankersingh, "Is this black man country," since you humbly asked the question, I will humbly give you an answer. 'The black man earned it.' After 300 years of blood, sweat, and tears this little piece of land is what we have to show for it; 300 years of being raped, whipped, and murdered Jamaica is what we have to show for it; 300 years of being bartered, traded, and sold like animals guess what we have to show for it?

So you want documentation that we bought Jamaica legally from the British. Can you and/or the British show me some documentation that they legally bought Jamaica from the native people they found here? And another thing all you 'rainbow-coloured proprietors' who feel that you inherit some part of this piece of land through 'political negotiations' in August of 1962. Take a look around count how many black men you see, not all of us agree with the motto. I still say majority rule. Jamaica is black man country and you and the Queen of England can come and try tek it back.

I am etc.,
