Put on the back burner

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE DEPLORABLE condition of the main road from Port Antonio to Long Bay in Portland amazes me.

How could the authorities allow this dangerous and life-threatening road condition, with half of the roadway between Fairy Hill to Long Bay dug up and left, without being resurfaced?

Secondly, the road leading to Commodore from Windsor Forest is a death trap and the Road and Works Department is aware of this situation.

Now the election is near, I have observed road repairs in other parishes with the exception of Portland, especially the eastern end. Is this saying no representative is hoping to be elected or re-elected for this area?

I am, etc.,

LORNA MARSHALL (Miss)

Long Bay P.O.

Portland
