'Not Jamaica's conspiracy'
THE EDITOR, Sir: I refer to your article ("We are worried - Forstmayr - Jamaican connection to sniper case worries tourism officials"...
Proud Jamerican
THE EDITOR, Sir: I am Jamaican born and raised and so proud of it. After 22 years of active duty in the U.S. Army I retired in 1998. I had to become a US citizen to remain on active duty so I guess I am now a "Jamerican".
Time for Seaga to go
THE EDITOR, Sir: Time is now overdue for the hierarchy of the JLP to rise and demand the removal of its ineffectual leader Edward Seaga if it's ever to have a chance to form the government of this country.
Indelible mark
THE EDITOR, Sir: Now that it seems likely that both PJ Patterson and Edward Seaga will not be seeking re-election, what more admirable way could they leave their indelible mark in history than by working toward the dismantling of garrison politics...
Stop bashing Jamaica
THE EDITOR, SIR: I want to first congratulate the Prime Minister and his party for their victory at the polls. To the JLP, I offer my praises for the improvement in their seat total in Parliament.
Living proof
THE EDITOR, Sir: What's cookin' with Melville? How can he discuss the sniper in the D.C. area in the same breath with the current tenant at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? Incidentally, last I looked most Americans are backing his approach to the terrorists.
Anxiety and fear
THE EDITOR, Sir: It is understandable the anxiety that Jamaicans in the USA and those involved with tourism are expressing due to the publicity given to the recent sniper killings.
