MANCHESTER

MUSICAL BRUNCH
Musical Brunch, a three-hour programme of music and dishes honouring the contribution of some of the citizens of Mandeville to community development, will be held at the Mandeville Anglican Church Hall starting at 11 a.m. Featuring: Jimmy Tucker & friends, Simone Kenny on flute, Clivia Green on clarinet and drums and Livingston Burnett and Alea Marten Blanken on piano.

SMIRNOFF PARTY
Smirnoff Ice Party will be held at the Amnesia Nightclub, Ocho Rios. Featuring Zip 103 FM DJs. There will be Smirnoff Ice give-aways on entrance to the club.

BIG SOUND NITE
Big Sound Nite is held at Margaritaville Ocho Rios this and every Saturday. The event begins with a live cabaret show by vocal impersonator Sammy Davis, and continues from 10 p.m. until 'you say when'.

Lannaman's Preparatory School presents Talent Showcase 2002 at the Louise Bennett Garden Theatre, 36 Hope Road. There will be stunning performances by the students. Admission: $500 adults and $200 children.

ACTING FOR THE SCREEN

The Jamaica Association of Dramatic Artists (JADA), in collaboration with the Creative Production & Training Centre (CPTC), will be having a workshop on Acting for the Screen at the CPTC, 37 Arnold Road, Kingston 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

TEEN LINK

The teen jam dubbed Teen Link is held at the Jonkanoo Lounge, Hilton Kingston Hotel, New Kingston, this and every Saturday from 12 noon to 7 p.m.

THE LATIN MINGLE
Courtleigh Hotel and Suites presents Saturday Latin Mingle this and every Saturday. Come and enjoy salsa, merengue and wild wild latin beats. Music by Lime Squash Disco and Gustavo the salsa dog. Latin dance lessons will be taught between 7 and 9 p.m.

MINI MISS JAMAICA
Eliminations and sashing of the 2002/2003 Mini Miss Jamaica Contest takes place at the Knutsford Court Hotel (formerly Sutton Place), Ruthven Road, New Kingston, starting at 7 p.m. Fourteen contestants will be chosen to go on to the finals in December. The main prize will be a trip to the United States. Entertainment will be provided by promising singers Samantha Strachan and Racquel Sellers as well as dub poet Sheldon Shepherd.

IMAGE 2002
The National Association Hairdressers and Cosmetologists present its annual trade show & Exhibition dubbed Image 2002 at the Jamaica Pegasus starting today and will continue tomorrow. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. both nights. Featuring: Inque, Maxine Panther, Deanette & Friends, Jerry Jackson and Linda Morris. Admission: $250 adults and $50 for children

MUSICAL CONCERT
Worthington Friends meeting (Quakers), 4 Worthington Avenue, Kingston 5, will be hosting a Musical Concert starting at 4 p.m. Featuring: Donald Hossack (organ), John Sears (piano), Christina Moder (recorder) and many more. Admission: $300.

LITTLE COPA CLUB

The Port Henderson Beach Park presents Fun Filled Family Sundays this and every Sunday at the Port Henderson Beach Park, Portmore. The days events include a bun-eating contest, a beer-drinking contest, football, basketball, stage show, a wet T-shirt contest and more. Gates open at 10 a.m. sharp. Admission: $30 for children and $50 for adults.
