Banish the Death Tax, Mr Prime Minister

THE EDITOR, Sir:

TO THE Most Hon. P.J. Patterson, Prime Minister of Jamaica.

Dear Prime Minister,

As a voice crying out in the wilderness of bewilderment and from the mundane world of North East St. Ann, please banish the Death Tax (Transfer Tax and Stamp Duty).

You have given to the poor yes, we know.

Let your magnanimity reach out and embrace those who have acquired wealth through dedication and hard work; those who paid their taxes, those who are no liability but an asset to the country.

I ask of you to banish this wicked and sinister Death Tax.

I am, etc.,

RAYMOND GOLDSMITH
