Disturbed at J'can crime
published: Monday | November 18, 2002

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM a Jamaican-American living here for the last 20 years. I read your paper daily and sometimes I am very disturb about the violence down there.

I have spoken to several natives of Jamaica about the violence and cannot understand how it is accepted (crime) as apart of life. Many times I have had conversations about how this cancer in your society can be eradicated. We in the United States are very concerned about the wave of criminal events taking place in the society and wonder how this type of behaviour is allowed to continue. Let me hope something can be done to stop this cancer in the society.

I am, etc.,
