Plaudits for cops

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I WRITE to commend the efforts of Woman Constable Charmaine Hibbert, Detective Corporal Dwight Daley and Constable Simpson all attached to the Savanna-la-Mar CIB Office.
On Wednesday, October 30, 2002 my laptop along with some valuable documents and bags were stolen from my motor vehicle in Savanna-la-Mar. These three officers responded promptly to my report and on Thursday, October 31 at 8.15 a.m. I received a call from Miss Hibbert advising me that my laptop was recovered. In a matter of hours my bags with all my documents were also recovered. I am extremely grateful to these officers and thought it befitting to commend them publicly.
Every day we condemn our officers with our blanket statements about the police force. I am cognisant of the fact that there are a few "bad eggs" in the lot but there are some good officers out there who are dedicated to their country and the war against crime. We must be careful not discourage the dedicated few and show our appreciation for their efforts.
